Erin Sy (pronounced See) was born in Manila to a Chinese-Filipino family. She grew up in New Jersey and then the Philippines, studied mathematics in Canada, and now lives in Pittsburgh with her spouse. She began her gender transition in 2017. She describes her life as a "crazy train ride of spirituality, martial arts, and love, with God as the conductor."
