Episode 161: Karlie McWilliams
Karlie McWilliams is a native Pittsburgher, and a senior at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (PTS). Karlie has worked in the past as a mechanical engineer and a web developer. She grew up a United Methodist and has always been active in her church. A decade ago, Karlie—who at the time held conservative evangelical views—realized she could no longer live a lie, and after much wrestling with God and her faith she decided to transition. Karlie has been living as her true self, a woman, for eight years now, but no one was more surprised than she when God called her to seminary and is currently a student pastor at Waverly Presbyterian Church. She is planning on pursuing a Doctorate in Theology, Trauma, and Ethics after she graduates from PTS.
